Peace in Education: Our First Peace Ceremony of 2019-2020

On Friday, September 6th, JBMA held its first Peace Ceremony of the school year. The Lower Elementary planned a beautiful ceremony surrounding the concept of “peace in education” that is derived from a quote by Maria Montessori. She states:

“Establishing lasting peace is the work of education”

Each of our programs presented their interpretation of this idea. Our Preschoolers sang “Light a Candle for Peace”, and our Lower and Upper Elementary discussed how peace can be found in the classroom and how well known figures have championed peace. The Middle School presented the various skills they master in the classroom that helps them to be peaceful.
