The JBMA Flower and Herb Garden

Gardens are an excellent experiential learning tool where students are able to express their creativity and use their problem solving skills to generate garden plans. Our JBMA garden has yielded beautiful flower and herbs that our students, teachers and parent volunteers have harvested and distributed. Part of Maria Montessori’s philosophy of education is creating opportunities for children to be outdoors in nature, to understand its interconnectedness, and learn about the role they play in its stewardship.

JBMA Middle School HOPE Project

This year, our middle school students have been working in our garden with the HOPE Project in partnership with Taziki’s to grow, harvest, and sell herbs to local Taziki’s restaurants. The program is teaching our adolescents about the economics of small business, and the importance of good working partnerships.

Stay tuned for updates about our Special Project Days!
